Poreč is famous for it’s number one sight and monument, the Euphrasian Basilica, the UNESCO heritage site in the heart of the old town center. But there is so much to see while wandering through the streets of our city.
While you’re at the old town center, be sure to visit some other popular sights, streets and monuments we take great pride in:
- the defense towers – the Pentagonal Tower as part of the former city gates, or North and South Defense Towers on each side of the town center;
- the historical houses and palaces – Lion Gothic House, the Sinčić Palace, Zuccato Palace, House of the Two Saints, or the Romanesque House, among others;
- the most important squares from the past – the Marafor Square and the Matija Gubec Square;
- and the nearby ruins of the ancient temples, like the Great Temple from the 1st century.
And that’s just what you can find at the city center! Next time we’re checking the Poreč surroundings. :)
